December 15th: January 1st policy effective date
What is the penalty for not having coverage?
Penalties for not being insured are $695 per adult and $347.50 per child, or 2.5% of your household income (whichever is greater).
Should I just keep my current plan?
Not necessarily. Many plans are seeing a premium increase of over 25% in 2018. Before you re-enroll, talk to one of our trained representatives to see if there might be a better option for you this year.
Should I "shop around" for the best price?
Because of the Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), there is no need to “shop around.” Our representatives will be able to review all of the plans available for you at the EXACT SAME PRICE as you’ll be able to find anywhere else. We’ll share the pros and cons of each plan and offer unbiased advice on which plans might be best for your family.
What info do I need to have before talking to a representative?
We can do everything over the phone, so there is no need to meet in person. To provide a no-obligation quote of your options, you’ll need the ages of everyone that needs coverage, information about your total household income, and your zip code...that’s it!
Why should I use an agent?
Enrollment specialists are trained to review all of the available options and offer educated advice on which plans will fit your needs best. We submit your application to the marketplace and our customer service team will continue to provide support in supplying the Marketplace with any requested documentation to protect your subsidy. Our assistance means that you will receive everything you qualify for at the lowest possible price.
What does it cost to get an agent's help?
Absolutely nothing. You can get the same exact plans available on the open exchange at the exact same prices.
Why are your services free? Are there hidden charges?
Insurance providers pay licensed agents to educate and enroll applicants. There is no additional charge to the applicant, and never will be.
Do I qualify for financial assistance?
Many families qualify for a tax subsidy that can dramatically reduce the price of your monthly premium. Some families even get their plans at no cost to them.
How do I get a subsidized plan?
Subsidies are based on your household income. With a little bit of information, we can see what you qualify for and make sure you receive everything to which you are entitled.
Will I be charged more, or rejected for coverage, if I have medical issues?
No, insurance companies are no longer able to discriminate on the grounds of previous (or current) medical issues. Premiums are only based on the age and smoking status of each applicant/family member.
Will I be able to keep my current doctor if I change plans?
Our representatives can review the available plans in your area to ensure that your doctor accepts any plan in which you consider enrolling.
