The enrollment period for 2017 is fast approaching. Elect National Benefits is gearing up to provide another year of unprecedented care and customer service to those with whom we work. Open enrollment begins on November 1st, 2016 and will close for the season on January 31st, 2017.
Now or Later?
Just because you technically have until January 31st doesn't mean you should delay your enrollment. It is wise to get your 2017 coverage squared away as soon as possible as your first premium will not be due until January 1st anyway. Keep in mind that in order to receive coverage effective January 1st, your application will need to be submitted by December 15th at the absolute latest, and your first premium payment made by January 1st. Delaying your enrollment could leave you vulnerable and without coverage for up to two months in 2017.
Stay or Go?
Even if you have a plan that you were satisfied with for 2016, it's wise to review your options every year. Plan premiums continue to increase, and though your current plan may offer you a preferred level of coverage at an affordable premium, there may be another plan that will allow you to maintain a similar level of benefits at a more efficient cost.
